Your Canine Camp Counselors

  • LaVerne Charles

    BIG MAMA/PROGRAM DIRECTOR

I'm a 10 year old Dutch Shepherd / Mastiff mix. I like long naps in the sun, taking puppies on nature walks, and rolling in the dirt. I'm the one with the most camp experience - I'm an Enzo's Acres Alum.

I take my training and lounging/companionship activities seriously. Though I used to outrun everyone I met, these days I've retired my running paws and have added chipmunk deterrent to my repertoire. I've never met a blanket or sunray I didn't adore. I'm pretty much in charge of everything and obviously I am the smartest, so I run the whole camp, but don't tell Phil.

  • Phillip Collins

    SOCIAL ACTIVITES DIRECTOR

I'm in charge of anything that requires front facing PR. I'm known widely throughout Clatsop County, and my status as one of the most well known dogs in Astoria really makes our camp special. Basically everyone knows me and comes to camp to see me and hang out with me. I am never in a bad mood. Amazing, huh!

I'm a Pekingese Pomeranian, and though I am almost 12, I'm still as handsome as the day I was born. My specialties are greeting committee, sociability, fun times, shenanigans and friendly practices, special events, team building, talent acquisition, and general awesomeness.

  • Momofuku

    FACILITIES MANAGER

My name is Momo, my friends call me Milo, MeMo, Momofuku, Muffin, Miloslavich, I've been all over the world and I have seen some stuff. Stuff that would make grown men weep. I'm a 10 year old Norfolk Terrier with a booty made of lead.

My strength is also my tenderness, however, as even though I yell at everyone to "STAY OFF MY LAWN," I was brought to camp one day literally from the brink of death. I may not look like a spiritual advisor, but I have seen the rainbow bridge - and now my life story helps keep camp going, for other dogs in tough situations JUST LIKE ME!

  • Wulfie Lou (LouLou)

    SUSTAINABILITY COORDINATOR

My name is LouLou, and I am a five month old terrier/poodle/chihuahua/mini aussie and dachshund mix. As the Sustainability Coordinator at our dog day camp, my role is to promote eco-friendly practices. I lead by example, ensuring waste is minimized and recycling is maximized - you will see me around camp picking up wrappers and taking them back to my mom to be disposed of properly (and trade for a cookie).

My duties include encouraging other dogs to use designated potty areas, helping with composting efforts, and participating in green activities like planting trees and maintaining the camp’s garden.

I like rules, make believing that I am a teacup dire wolf from Game of Thrones, and pretending to be calm, even though I have to come back inside if something scares me, and yelling in my mom's personal space.

  • Richard Robert (aka Bobbo)

    PEER COUNSELOR

My name is Bobbo, and I am SO CUTE! My playful and enthusiastic nature will inspire both dogs and humans to embrace the camp life! Just look at me dig with my tiny little legs!

I am also a five month old terrier/poodle/chihuahua/mini aussie and dachshund mix! Did you know that dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers? You betcha! You should hear how very ferocious I can be.

My brother, LouLou, and I came to camp as permanent residents this summer, and we LOVE it here! We are so excited to have you join us. We love to wrestle and pretend like we are marmots.

We go on hikes, we play in the meadow, we listen to music, we have snacks and on rainy days we sit by the fire and watch movies.

    See you soon!

  • Emily The Human

    Human, Thumb Haver, Poop Flinger

With a crew like this, who needs humans? I'm a 6.85 year old (in dog years) person who has always lived with canines. I cannot ever remember a time when dogs were not in my life, lap, or bed!

I seem to have a natural affinity for our canine companions, and as I get older, the adage "Dogs are the best people," remains one of my favorites.

I've rescued and rehomed over a dozen dogs, as well as been the fortunate guardian to about as many in my own home. The years of my life are marked by the dogs by my side, and I understand how completely indebted and in love with these creatures we truly are.

Pop's Dog Camp is the place I needed for my dogs when I was learning how to be the very best dog mom I could. It's my hope that I can be the resource my dogs and I needed back then for our community, now.
